              Kendall Mayfield, LGSW

Kendall is a social worker who has worked as a mental health skill builder, intensive in-home service provider, and she is currently a therapist in a school.

Kendall has worked with adults and children in the past. When working with clients Kendall prefers to use Systems theory because it looks at human behavior and problems from the perspective of the individual in the context of complex and interrelated systems. This holistic theory considers the needs, behavior, and experiences of all those interacting within the system. In systems theory, a social worker must consider all the factors within the system impacting the client and work to make that system healthy and supportive.  She also uses a Cognitive behavioral framework. CBT relies on a cognitive model that connects how people experience, perceive, and interpret events to their emotions, behaviors, and psychological functioning.

Kendall’s goal as a therapist is to help individuals find the light in themselves and to shine brightly. Kendall cares about inclusivity as she respects people and values diversity. She is committed to equality and considers herself to be very open and honest as she is committed to allowing individuals express themselves freely. Kendall cares about the mental well-being of others because she feels that a health community comes from healthy individuals.

Kendall’s clinical interest include but are not limited to women’s issues, personal growth, bipolar disorders, and racial issues.

Ruth Ade, PMHNP-BC

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; I obtained my graduate degree from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of Maryland University College. I have been in the healthcare profession for over 8 years and during those years, I have had the opportunity to work in various nursing sectors which includes residential, rehabilitation, outpatient, inpatient, psychiatric, and case management settings. This has prepared me to manage my patients with evidence-based treatment modalities.

Behavioral health is as important as physical health. However, many people are still reluctant to seek behavioral services due to prejudice and stigma surrounding the conditions. I want to help fight this and replace stigma with evidence-based treatment through services utilizing modalities that have proven effective in managing symptoms. I bring passion and commitment to my practice of caring for patients, which entails a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of patient’s psychological, emotional, and physical well-being to create a plan of care that will optimize a favorable outcome in a realistic, goal-oriented length of time with the patients’ buy-in. I have worked with patients dealing with different mental health conditions such as children, adolescents, adults and older adults and I am always open to supporting more people seeking assistance.
